Solution ...the Meech Series 1000 Web Cleaning System, an effective solution to material contamination. The Series 1000 Web Cleaning System is the Meech response to the problems listed above. It has been developed as a result of our experience gained though our world-wide application of electrostatic and dust control systems. The Series 1000 System comprises two main elements, the cleaning head and the dust collection system.
The cleaning head offers exceptional cleaning performance. It combines static eleminators, brushes and high power vacuum dust collection.
  • Static Elimination - Electrostatic charges on the dirt particles and web form a bond making the particles difficult to remove. Meech Model 910 static eliminator bars break the bond between the particles and the web.
  • Brushing - The boundary layer, associated with a moving web, isolates small particles on the surface from external air flows. The brushes on the series 1000 destroy this boundary layer, thereby allowing the removal of even the smallest particles.
  • Vacuum - The series 1000 utilises a specially designed vacuum control plate. This givescomplete coverage of the material surface, removing contaminants to a very high degree of efficiency.
The cleaning head is constructed from extruded aluminium and is available in two forms. Both give high levels of rigidity, allowing the series1000 to span wide webs without immediate support. The "T" section version is suitable for most applications requiring only 120mm of web path for installation.
The "I" section version, with a side mounted vacuum spigot, is available where installation headroom is at a premium.

The cleaning heads are supported by mounting brackets bolted to the machine frame. These are individually tailored to suit the application. Flexible ducting delivers the contaminants to the collection system. Driven by a proprietary 3 phase centrifugal fan, the system generates a powerful vacuum at the cleaning head. Removed debris is collected in a filter bag. Filtration is to 5 microns as standard. An optional centrifugal separator is also available.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
  • Laminating - Wherever materials are joined together they should be clean to prevent inclusions impairing the quality. This is a wide area including plastic films, pcb substrates, metal sheets and foils.
  • Food Packaging - Themoforming substrates must be clean before being formed. The Meech series 1000 also neutralises the static charge which improves further handling.
  • Web-Fed Presses - Contaminated stock causes downtime for cleaning of image areas on web fed presses in offset, flexo, letterpress and gravure printing.
  • Paper Making & Converting - Dust on paper machines, slitters, winders and tissue lines reduces productivity and quality.
  • Wood/Furniture - Machining dust and contaminants must be removed from flat sheets of wood, MDF and laminated boards before finishing, decorating or coating.
  • Flooring - The high static charges generated during the manufacture of vinyl flooring attract large particles. If they are not removed they can become embedded into the product.
  • Screen Printing - Plastic substrates from acrylic sheets to membrane switches attract dust which must be removed before printing.
  • Coating - If the product to be coated is not clean the final quality will be poor. The Meech Series 1000 removes this contamination thoroughly and cost-effectively.
  • Board - Board converting processes, including diecutting and printer slotters, generate dust which needs to be removed before high quality printing and coating.
  • Pharmaceuticals - Vacuum forming materials for use in sensitive medical packaging can be cleaned to ensure the highest standards.
